School of General Engineering are Approved for the 2022 Multinational Joint Innovation Project

Recently, the China Scholarship Council announced the list of funded projects for the 2022 Multinational Joint Innovation Project. Led and organized by International Exchange Cooperation Office, and supported by the School of General Engineering/International Research Institute for Multidisciplinary Science, "Sino-Germany Innovation Program of Aerospace Science" of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics has been approved and funded.

Leader of this "Sino-Germany Innovation Project of Aerospace Science" is Professor Wen Dongsheng, who is also Dean of School of General Engineering/International Interdisciplinary Research Institute. The Technical University of Munich, Germany is our partner institution. With the management model of Program Approval before Appointment and the implementation period of 3 years, for each year 6 co-trained students and 2 visiting scholars can be sent to partner universities for visiting or joint training, with their round-trip travel expenses and scholarship covered during the academic period. Aiming at the major needs of our country in aerospace science and technology, and through the cooperation with the internationally renowned University of Technology Munich, we will jointly build a high-level platform for the cultivation of talents in aerospace science and technology. Led by aerospace high-tech science and technology, facilitated by extensive international cooperation and exchanges, this project aims at breaking the barrier of scientific research management and disciplinary organization model that was based on traditional disciplinary boundaries, strengthening the development of original, leading, and multidisciplinary scientific and technological research, and assisting our university's undertaking of cultivating innovative talents for our country in the field of aeronautics and astronautics.

The CSC established the "Multinational Joint Innovation Project" in 2014. The project serves the national strategy, focuses on shortages in cutting-edge technology, and innovates the training modes. It aims to promote domestic and foreign cooperation to cultivate innovative international talents. The approval of this project will play an important role in our school's cultivation of talents characterized by academic innovation, cross-cultural versatility, and engineering excellence in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, in obtaining original research achievements of international influence, and in promoting the school's education level from an international perspective.
