The rapid spread and outbreak of the COVID-19 global epidemic brought challenges to the students of School of General Engineering (SGE) who are planning for studying abroad and preparing for language exams. In the face of the special situation, we earnestly listens to the students, cares for the physical and mental health of students, and actively carries out student development counseling based on students’ demand.

On the afternoon of April 30th, SGE joined hands with young teacher who have overseas study background from School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Electronic Information Engineering to hold this salon through online meeting. The salon was hosted by professor Wen Dongsheng, Dean of SGE. We invited professors including Hou Huilong, Gao Hui, Xu Ye, Peng Peng, Feng Lin, Yan Xin, Zhao Zhongliang, Zhang Meng, Sun Xiaoqian and Zhao Jin. They combined with their own overseas study and research experience, provided targeted guidance and consultation about plans and preparation for studying abroad.

Professor Wen Dongsheng analyzed the choice of undergraduate graduation in detail and elaborated on the goal of international talent training of SGE. SGE equips every student in need with a tutor to provide personalized and professional guidance about overseas study, and fully supports the student's development. Finally, Professor Wen Dongsheng made a conclusion with three words "Motivation, Vision, Perseverance" to encourage students of SGE to drive themselves, find the right direction and persevere to realize their dreams, and become the "MVP" of their own lives.

Youth is the future and hope of the nation. The School of General Engineering relies on the strong engineering background and advantages of Beihang University, introduces teachers globally and adopts a talent training model that is in line with international education, providing students strong support to go abroad for further education.
