School of General Engineering Successfully Held a Sharing Salon for Studying Abroad
On the afternoon of May 27th, SGE's studying study abroad salon was successfully held online. In this salon, two students Zhang Yiyuan and Wang Guanghan of grade 2017 were invited as speakers to share their experience of studying abroad during the exchange period in RWTH Aachen University and Uppsala University in Sweden.
Zhang Yiyuan gave a multi-angle and comprehensive introduction to Aachen University of Technology from the aspects of campus environment, learning atmosphere, faculty, teaching characteristics and cultural exchanges, showing the free and strong learning atmosphere, teaching and practice of Aachen University of Technology Closely integrated academic features. While studying hard,Zhang Yiyuan actively participated in cultural exchanges. By participating in dormitory cultural activities and gatherings of local residents, joining the local Alumni Association of BUAA, etc., he quickly integrated into the local life. At the same time, he paid attention to the spread of Chinese culture and promoted cultural exchanges between the two countries In terms of aspects, strive to contribute positive forces.
Starting with the beautiful natural scenery of Sweden, Wang Guanghan introduced from the aspects of historical tradition, transportation advantages, language characteristics, etc., and gave detailed and practical suggestionscombining with his application and study experience. Wang Guanghan introduced the local relaxed and free learning environment and a variety of curriculum design, focusing on the Uppsala online robotics class, exam characteristics and school activities with school characteristics. He also shared effective methods for relieving psychological stress while studying in a foreign country, and encouraged everyone to participate in exchanges and exchange activities, keep a broad view, and make scientific plans for future development.
In the questioning session, the two students expressed their views on the academic style and technical characteristics of different countries and regions, the difference between overseas and domestic reading, and the exchange of credits in exchange programs.
By holding the study abroad sharing salon, SGE enhanced students' understanding of overseas universities, helped them know more information about studying abroad, broadened their international horizons,and strengthened their determinationto further personal development.
