‘Song of Youth, Anthem for the Future’- SGE 2019 summary and commendation conference and 2020 New Year party was successfully held
At 7:30 p.m. on December 14, 2019, “Song of Youth, Anthem for the Future” was held in the Academic Exchange Hall. Wen Dongsheng, dean, Zhao Haiyun, vice dean, Sun Xiaoqian, vice dean,Zhao Qiudi, student affairs director and all the students, teachers from home and abroad attended the party. We recalled the fruitful achievements of the past year and welcomed the coming year of 2020 together.
Canon kicked off the party with a melodious violin and piano concerto. Through the video review, the outstanding achievements made by SGE students in the science and technology innovation, discipline competition, social practice, voluntary service, overseas study and a variety of student activities in 2019 are presented. Dean Wen presented certificates to SGE star 2019 winner Li Tianhao and nomination award winner Liu Yuhe. We encourage all students to follow their example, study hard and develop in an all-round way.
The performance fully embodies the characteristics of the internationalized running of SGE, including Acabella singing "We Are Young", hand play and card trick magic performance, Chinese and English songs and unique Chinese characteristics of classical dance. Foreign teachers and counselors also actively participate in the performance and teachers and students enjoyed the stage. It was happy and harmonious, which fully demonstrated the daily life of teachers and students. Student of class 193512 and a foreign teacher, Sebastian Wandelt, perfectly reproduced the joy of overcoming difficulties to acquire new knowledge in CS class in the form of mime. The SGE version of the dance “Coincidence”demonstrated SGE characteristic, also put the drama of the party to the climax. With the chorus of "You Raise Me Up", the New Year party of 2020 came to an end.
The evening also included an exciting raffling session, and professor Harold p. s. juren, chairman of the advisory committee of SGE, took the opportunity to send his best wishes for the New Year to the faculty and students. Finally, dean Wen delivered a passionate speech in English. He sent his best wishes for the New Year to all the teachers and students and expressed his congratulations on the success of the party, his thanks to the students for their excellent performances, and his pride in the honors and achievements of the school over the past year. President Wen encouraged all of the students to challenge themselves to create more achievements in the future and write a more splendid youth movement.
