Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Delegates Visits School of General Engineering
Professor José Atienza, Vice President of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), and Professor Claudio Feijoo, UPM Rector’s delegate for Asia, visit School of General Engineering and meet SGE dean Dongsheng WEN, vice dean Xiaoqian SUN and Ying LV, vice director of Beihang International Division.
Prof. Xiaoqian SUN gives an all-round introduction to the school and highlights featured project-based-learning model as well as the course “Introduction to General Engineering and Multidisciplinary Engineering Design”, an SGE-exclusive course in Beihang University for freshmen to get on the track of this model from the very first year among four-year university training. SGE’s development in the past three years and its vision on education resonate between two guests. UPM, said Professor José Atienza, shares the same engineering talents education philosophy with SGE, which is to develop the capabilities of leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship of students. With this purpose in mind, the university, introduced by Professor Claudio Feijoo, kicks off their university-funded leadership master program to help outstanding seniors, evaluated and selected by industry, to get a leadership master degree after two-year training.
