Vice Dean Zhao of SGE attended the 20th CACIE and delivered a speech
The 20th Chinese Annual Conference for International Education & Expo was held in Beijing from October 17 to 20. The conference took as its theme “Education in 2035, dialogue with the future of the world”. The conference aimed to discuss education modernization towards 2035 so as to promote higher-level education opening-up and jointly draw a blueprint for international education development. Chen Baosheng, Minister of education, attended the conference and delivered a speech on Oct, 18th.
This annual conference set up 12 symposiums in the higher education sector. Zhao Haiyun, vice dean of SGE, was invited to attend “International symposium on the construction of English teaching curriculum in universities in the new era” and delivered a keynote speech on “the view of English teaching in universities”.
Zhao Haiyun explained the significance of teaching in English from three aspects：from the initial adaptation to the needs of international students studying in China to the needs of broadening the international vision of Chinese students and improving their international communication ability, as well as the needs of introducing cutting-edge international education and teaching methods. Vice Dean Zhao Haiyun pointed out that the program of teaching in English is not simply to change the Chinese teaching to English teaching, but a systematic engineering to consider and reconstruct teaching programme, curriculum setting and etc, and provide the frame diagram of the discipline construction. Finally, Zhao introduced the work and experience of International School and SGE in the construction of English teaching in Beihang University. The speech won the praises of the conferee.
