Politecnico di Torino Visits SGE
Marco Begani, head of the International Affairs Office of the Politecnico di Torino and Alessandra Sechi, head of the student exchange, visited the School of General Engineeringin the morning of May 14th, and talked with Haiyun Zhao, Vice Dean of SGE and school staff.
Zhao Haiyun welcomed the two foreign guests to visit SGE and clarified SGE’s philosophy, majors, curriculum structure and international students’ admission. Marco Begani spoke highly of SGE and introduced Politecnico di Torino, followed up with a discussion on teachers and students exchanges, and inter-institutional cooperation between two sides. After the meeting, they took a tour around the SGE students’ activity venue and International Teachers’ offices.
Founded in 1859, Politecnico di Torino, one of the top 100 universities around the world and one of Italy's prestigious institutions of higher education, was born to be a practical place to train engineers. In year 1906, joined by the Italian industrial museum, it became the Politecnico di Torino as it is now. The Politecnico di Torino was ranked the 33rd in 2018 QS World University of science and engineering and the 10th in Europe. Its subjects are almost all in the top 100 in the world, and art history, civil engineering, architecture, and electronic engineering top 50.
