SGE Global Top Engineers Series Literal Arts Lectures III
On the afternoon of October 20, 2018, SGE held the 3rd Global Top Engineers Series Literal Arts Lectures at Shahe campus. Dr. Hans Hoyer gave a lecture with the topic of Prepare to Be A Global Engineer. Over 250 students from two campuses attended the lecture.
Dr. Hans Hoyer serves as the Secretary General of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) and Executive Secretary of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC). He is also a Resident Scholar in Global Engineering at George Mason University. In his speech, Dr. Hoyer introduced the work of several global organizations engaged in engineering education in all six continents including global engineering student organizations, and emphasized on the skills and multi-cultural attributes required for the new generation of engineering students to compete effectively in the global market and community. Moreover, the introduction of the global challenges of poverty and how some of the sustainable development goals of United National organization and other global organizations are addressing these challenges were given. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Hoyer encouraged all of our students to make connections with the international organizations, actively engage in their activities and listen to their voices, so as to equip ourselves well to be a competitive global engineer in the future.
Taking such opportunity, students got access to the global organizations and leagues, and broadened their horizons. In this regard, SGE will make full use of our own advantage of the strong international faculty and continue to develop Global Top Engineers Series Lectures for all the students.
