Professor Dongsheng Wen is the Dean of the School of General Engineering and School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering at Beihang University. He is an adjunction professor at the University of Leeds, a recipient of the European Research Council’s Consolidator grant and China’s ‘National Distinguished Expert’.
He received his DPhil from the University of Oxford, after his BEng in Aeronautics (1997) and MSc in Thermophysics (2000) from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Tsinghua University respectively. Prior to his current position, he had worked in various academic positions at the Queen Mary University of London. He is the Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Energy Institute (FEI), and Institute of Nanotechnology (FIoN), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Chartered Scientist (CSci).
He has published over 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals, which is well received in the community (i.e. total citation >5000, and current H-index-30, ISI Web of Knowledge). His research covers a wide spectrum of nanotechnology and engineering science, including nanomaterials production and characterization, high efficient renewable energy technologies, micro/nanoscale flow and heat transfer, and multiscale modelling and simulation.
